Seahawk Baseball

will seek a South

Coast Conference

title and postseason

bid in 2015.

Harbor baseball field

Seahawk Baseball

lost 9-6 to visiting

East Los Angeles

College Friday

evening.

 The Seahawks (15-21 overall,

6-15 South Coast Conference)

started strong in their season

finale, leading 2-0 after four

innings before the Huskies

responded with a two-run

5th inning.

Harbor then answered with

two runs in the bottom of

the 5th, as Nicholas Padovan

and Jordan Espino each

recorded RBI doubles to push

to a 4-2 lead.

Espino also took the mound

in the 5th after starting in the

designated hitter role, but

was stymied by four East L.A.

hits and five runs in just over

one inning of play, which was

enough to be dealt the loss

as Harbor would not lead

again after six total runs by

the Huskies in the 6th and

7th frames.

Trailing 9-4 entering the

bottom of the 9th, the

Seahawks put a final scare

on the Husky gloves, as

German Vasquez (in a

substitute role at catcher)

belted an RBI single down

the left line to cut the deficit

to four. Pinch hitter Konnor

Provin loaded the bases on

a walk, followed by a double

play groundout by Espino

to score Eduardo Frayre.

Anthony Canjura grounded

out to shortstop for the final

out.

Canjura went 3-for-5 with a

run scored, while Frayre

scored two runs while

tacking on a 2-for-4

outing at the plate. Miguel

Castaneda also hit 2-for-4,

adding a run scored.

Michael Semonsen earned

a no-decision in 4 1/3 innings

of work, striking out six

hitters, but walking four and

giving up two runs.

Espino concluded his Harbor

career at three different

positions on the day, which

included a late stint at left

field. Canjura and Nycholas

Bongiovanni (0-for-1) also

played their final games as

Seahawks.
