Which class from the old The Elder Scrolls games classes would you like to see reappear in ESO

I took the liberty to cut all the classes that either already excist or are represented as skill lines or role in ESO or are simply too similar to other classes and/or probably wouldn’t make a very interesting class to play, so in the end it comes down to only these 4 classes. but i’m confident that they are unique and interesting enough to be actually concidered by ZOS (though i’m pretty sure they won’t, but what the hay :)).

Monk for sure. Yes, Unarmored and Unarmed sounds kind of silly going up against a fully armored knight, but so does spitting fire out of a stick or throwing a dagger that bounces off of multiple targets if you really come down to it.

Monk characters were the most difficult to get going, but were devastating once leveled in Morrowind and Daggerfall.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Wouldn’t mind a bard class if it meant getting an illusion line of skills, with options to charm and fear enemies. It would be different from the other classes we have at least.

i didn’t list Spellsword or Battlemage and the like because they are basicly just a mix of two other classes/skill lines/roles.

I almost picked Barbarian. I was on the fence about it but my first ever Elder Scrolls experience was an Argonian Monk in Morrowind. I have good memories of that play through and I suppose it shaped my view on the world (and my view of Dunmer in general). It was extremely weak when I started but as the character finally grew it became very powerful, even with the inherent weaknesses of not being able to wear the same clothes as the more human/elf races. I loved the whole Alchemy focused, Cudgel wielding, punch in the face, mystical style and it really seemed to meld well with being a spy (Spy was a class as well wasn’t it?). At any regard Barbarian is another great choice although Knight is likely very similar and a viable option.

On the matter of Witch hunter I suspect that would essentially be a Templar or Nightblade (or something in between). Considering it already has something analogous I don’t think that should be an available class in the game. The same could be said to be true of Bard. While I love the Bard I think the Nightblade could suitably fit this role, or anyone for that matter with Legerdemain, Alchemy, and Thieves Guild skills.

The actual addition of more classes to the game would be a mistake though. I would much rather they add more skill lines and skills to the game than new classes. In fact I would much rather skill lines were all we had with no set in stone classes at all.

No…you really cant. Have you tried? With the whole 3 warden frost damage abilities and a couple from destro staff? not even close to viable. Warden is NOT an ice mage, its far closer to a druid

Considering frost staff taunts, it’d be a tank build. So… You could totally do it.

well, i’d say Witchhunter is essentially the Fighters Guild skill line, but if i had cut this class too there’d be only 3 classes left. i don’t see how a Bard would be anything like a Nightblade though – one is a charming illusionist, the other a stealthy destructionist.

barabrian might indeed be a very interesting class too. i imagine a stam based classes with a strong focus on Two-handed weapons and maybe dodge based defenses.

Before seeing the poll options, Spellsword came to mind, but based on what can be voted upon, I’ll go with Witchhunter. I think the game could use a proper ranged stamina class, as the Bow weapon skill line is primarily used in the game for back bar DOTs in PVE and ganking in PVP. The concept of an "anti-magic" mage could be cool too – I envision a ranged medium armor build with a mix of powerful defensive and debuffing capabilities. How they could fit into the tanking/healer roles, I don’t know though.

Yeah, Monks are cool. To be fair, in ESO, "Unarmored" would just be light armor, so we already see that, and the idea of a magicka melee class would fill a gap in the game.

Not, what I voted for obviously, but Monks have some merit.

and yet previous games allowed necromancer style builds by using skilllines such as conjuration, mysticism and restoration, they also allowed the capture of npc souls using black soul gems and the ability for the player to become undead themselves (vampirism).

"Necromancy, as any other type of magic, is a tool to be used." – Phinis Gestor, conjuration master at the College of Winterhold, as seen in Skyrim where necromancy was totally playable.

He does go on to add that "non-mages may not see it that way, so we don’t go around flaunting it" but I think that ship probably sailed when they let us ride into town on skeletal horses.
